Horse Betting Tips For Thursday

Steve Mullington with his best racing tips, with a NAP, a NB and a Longshot running at Doncaster and Epsom Downs...

3.00 Doncaster – Desert Flower (NAP)

Favourite backers will be blooming happy on Thursday afternoon when Desert Flower lands the Group 2 May Hill Stakes over Doncaster’s straight mile.

The daughter of Night Of Thunder is 16-1 with us for next year’s 1000 Guineas and she will put her Classic credentials to the test on the opening day of the St Leger Festival.

Charlie Appleby’s two-year-old has made quite an impression on her first two starts for her Godolphin owners, dominating on her Newmarket debut before doubling her tally with a six-and-a-half victory at the same venue.

At odds of around 5/4 she looks like a very good bet for win purposes.

Danger: Flight

3.35 Doncaster – Nakheel (NB)

The Owen Burrows-trained Nakheel looks like the filly to side with in a competitive renewal of the Group 2 Park Hill Fillies' Stakes.

She was a nice winner at Ascot in May having kept on well on her seasonal bow.

Since then, she ran with credit at Goodwood when finishing two lengths ahead of Sea Just In Time, and more recently she was a decent third behind Scenic in the Galtres Stakes at York.

Danger: Shamida

3.45 Epsom – Parramount (E/W Longshot)

The professional jump jockeys have their very own Derby at Epsom every September and Lilly Pinchin can put up a bold show aboard Parramount for Charlie Longsdon.

The grey gelding has been knocking on the door all season long and this unique race could well be the key to getting him back into the winner’s circle.

Pinchin has had one winner from her last five rides and Parramount appears to go well for a lady jockey as Hollie Doyle can testify.

Danger: Enochdhu

Horse Betting Tips For Friday

Steve Mullington with his best racing tips, with a NAP, a NB and a Longshot running at Salisbury and Doncaster...

3.55 Salisbury – Tabiti (NAP)

Impressive Newmarket scorer Tabiti steps down in trip for the rescheduled Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes at Salisbury on Friday afternoon.

The daughter of Kingman made an eye-catching debut on the July Course last month, justifying her short odds with a dominant all the way victory.

Trained by Ralph Beckett for owners Juddmonte, the same combination landed this six-furlong contest two years ago with Juliet Sierra.

Tabiti looks to hold an outstanding chance under Rossa Ryan and could well go off the favourite.

Danger: Jewelry

3.35 Doncaster – Gregory (NB)

The Gosden-trained Gregory can get back to winning ways today in the 2m2f Doncaster Cup.

The four-year-old won the Queen's Vase in 2023, giving his Wathnan owners a famous double, and went on to be fifth in the St Leger at Doncaster.

This season he’s been pretty consistent but has failed to put his head in front thus far. His run behind Vauban at York was superb and a reproduction of that will surely see him go really close in this feature contest.

James Doyle is the go to rider for Wathnan Racing’s horses and he’s given them a fair return this season already.

Danger: Sweet William

5.55 Doncaster – Princess Karine (E/W Longshot)

Blink and you’ll miss her, but I believe Princess Karine possesses all the speed that is required to land the five furlongs Raceday Ready Handicap at Doncaster.

The five-year-old mare has won four of her 25 starts to date and she has been placed on numerous occasions.

We last saw her running a pleasing race in the Northallerton Handicap at Thirsk and she can make her presence felt once more today.

Danger: Rock Of England

Horse Betting Tips For Saturday

Steve Mullington with his best racing tips, with a NAP, a NB and a Longshot running at Doncaster...

3.40 Doncaster – Sunway (NAP)

As you may recall I suggested Sunway for the St Leger a few weeks ago at odds of 8/1 and as I write he’s just a shade under those odds, with more support likely to come for him on Saturday morning.

The three-year-old is a full-brother to 2021 Champion Stakes hero Sealiway and he ended his juvenile career at the top level when taking the Criterium International at Saint-Cloud.

This season he returned to Paris to finish second in the Group Three Prix Greffulhe, where he just got touched off by a neck, and in June he was beaten less than a length after a superb run in the Irish Derby.

I’m very confident he can run a big race in the fifth and final Classic of this season.

Danger: Illinois

1.50 Doncaster – Wolf Of Badenoch (NB)

Hugo Palmer’s Wolf Of Badenoch looks well placed to land the 7f Group 2 Champagne Stakes on St Leger Day at Doncaster.

The two-year-old ran in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood on his second start, finishing a close second to Charlie Appleby’s Aomori City.

The Pinatubo-colt made a winning debut at Doncaster prior to his run on the Sussex Downs and that Town Moor form should pay dividend once again in this competitive contest for colts and geldings.

Danger: Chancellor

2.25 Doncaster – Vintage Clarets (E/W Longshot)

Something tells me the Vintage Clarets team have been plotting their way to this big end of season handicap, and I can see the 90-rated five-year-old running a stormer at decent odds.

Vintage Clarets appears to like this 5½ furlong trip and twelve months ago he finished a close fifth to Annaf in this very race, before going on to score in two consecutive handicaps.

The more showers we get on Saturday, the better his chances and he is a nice each-way play.

Dangers: Jm Jungle & Elmonjed
