The Cheltenham Festival is the highlight of the National Hunt season.

The roar ahead of the Supreme Novices Hurdle on the opening day of the Festival is iconic and horse racing betting odds are heating up ahead of this year's meeting.

Supreme Novices Hurdle - Tips:

The Supreme Novices Hurdle kicks things off and punters will be keeping an eye out for Cheltenham Day 1 tips ahead of the Festival.

Scroll down to find out our Supreme Novices Hurdle pointers ahead of the 2021 Cheltenham Festival.

Supreme Novices Hurdle Trainers:

Willie Mullins has trained four of the last eight Supreme Novices Hurdle winners, including the 2019 Supreme Novices Hurdle winner Klassical Dream. In total, Mullins has trained the Supreme winner on six occasions.

Meanwhile, Nicky Henderson’s runners usually run well in this race, with 11 of his 22 horses finishing in the places in the last 11 renewals. Make sure to follow the Supreme Novices Hurdle declarations ahead of the 2021 Cheltenham Festival.

Supreme Novices Hurdle Prize Money:

The total prize money on offer for the Supreme Novices Hurdle at the 2020 Cheltenham Festival was £125,000, with winning connections claiming £71,187.

Supreme Novices Hurdle Trial Races:

The Supreme Novices Hurdle trial at Cheltenham’s November Meeting is a race that is worth taking note of.

While 2018 winner Quel Destin could only manage fifth in the Triumph Hurdle at the 2019 Cheltenham Festival, course and distance form is obviously a major plus for any horse who wins that trial race.

The Deloitte Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown has been a successful trial race over the last 20 years, with five Supreme winners also lining up in that Irish race in February.

Klassical Dream is just one of those to have won the Deloitte before going on to win the Supreme Novices Hurdle – this is a race you won’t want to miss.

Last but not least, the novice hurdle at Newbury’s Betfair Hurdle meeting in February is also worth following.

This has been the best British trial race for the Supreme Novices Hurdle over the years, with three winners going on to win the Festival’s curtain raiser. Could we see one of the best female jockeys win the Supreme in 2021?

Supreme Novices Hurdle Result 2020:

Despite suffering interference throughout the race, Shishkin held off a late charge from Abacadabras to win the Supreme Novices Hurdle. At 6/1, Shishkin gave punters a winning start to the Cheltenham Festival.
