Horse Betting Tips For Thursday
Steve Mullington with his best racing tips, with a NAP, a NB and a Longshot running at Wolverhampton...
5.40 Wolverhampton – Harbour Vision (NAP)
Course and distance winner Harbour Vision has been given another great opportunity to score at Wolverhampton once more in this 7f Handicap (Class 6).
Scott Dixon’s nine-year-old has been in great form now for several weeks and continues to run with consistency on the all-weather surfaces.
Seven pound claimer Taryn Langley takes the ride on this handicap stalwart and this 112 starts horse generally gives claimers a good spin around.
7.10 Wolverhampton – Street Life (NB)
Unsurprisingly I’m siding with yet another course and distance at Wolverhampton this evening by opting for Street Life in the five furlong sprint.
Patrick Morris trains the 55 rated nine-year-old and he has employed the services of the seven pound claimer Warren Fentiman to bring home the spoils.
Fentiman was on the grey for the first time just six days ago and he will be hoping to improve upon their fourth position.
With some slightly different racing tactics they are in with a good shout of registering Street Life’s eleventh career victory.
7.45 Wolverhampton – Boyd Crowder (E/W Longshot)
Richard Fahey is adept at placing his runners in all the right races and his Boyd Crowder can go well in his first handicap.
The Ribchester-gelding has showed no real noteworthy form as yet, but a mark of 55 in this race and under top jockey Jack Garrity, it rings a few alerts for me, so he has to be worth an each-way interest at double figure odds.
Don’t be surprised if an altogether unrecognisable Boyd Crowder turns up on Thursday over this 1m1½f trip.
Horse Betting Tips For Friday
Steve Mullington with his best racing tips, with a NAP, a NB and a Longshot running at Meydan, Ascot and Newcastle...
3.50 Meydan – Atif (NAP)
Trainer Doug Watson always does well at the Meydan meets and his Atif can land the Listed Dubai Creek Mile on Friday afternoon.
Atif is a four-year-old gelding, sired by Bodemeister out of the Giant's Causeway mare Emotif and is owned by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum.
He won on debut over a mile on the Argentinian racecourse of Palermo and has not been seen racing in public since.
He’s clearly an interesting recruit to the Watson yard and I can see him winning this Middle Eastern contest by a distance.
2.05 Ascot – Grandads Cottage (NB)
The Olly Murphy stable is in red hot form at present and Grandads Cottage can give Sean Bowen yet another winner in his quest to become champion jockey for the first time.
The nine-year-old was in pretty decent form last year, winning one race at Leicester and ending it with a fair effort in the Topham Chase at Aintree.
I’ve seen Grandads Cottage listed in the initial declarations for several races in recent weeks, but today appears the one they are targeting for his opener, which is almost a tip in itself.
5.45 Newcastle – Cisco Disco (E/W Longshot)
Returning to the all-weather for only the third time in his career, Cisco Disco can gain his first victory under his new trainer Mike Smith.
Formerly handled by Richard Fahey, the six-year-old gained four victories and once reached the dizzy heights of being rated 81.
Fast forward a few seasons and he’s now racing in a Class 6 handicap off 58. Some of the talent is still there however, as he showed at Ayr on Oct 10th, and a repeat of that run would give him a great each-way shout today.
Horse Betting Tips For Saturday
Steve Mullington goes through the card on Betfair Chase Day at Haydock...
In a slight change to the usual tipping format on this page, our horse racing pundit Steve Mullington marks your entire card at Haydock on Betfair Chase Day (Sat 23rd November 2024).
12.08 Haydock
On what could be a red letter day for the Lucinda Russell stable at the Merseyside track, ROCHEVAL can continue his upward curve and land the opening Grade 2 Newton Novices' Hurdle at Haydock Park.
Unbeaten in his three starts to date, the Kapgarde gelding looks sure to progress for this smart training team.
The easy Wetherby scorer Roadlesstravelled ranks as the obvious danger to the pick.
12.40 Haydock
I’m certainly picking up good vibrations about the chances of XCITATIONS in this 2m½f Handicap Chase.
Pam Sly’s nine-year-old has run well on his seasonal debut before and has won races at both Class 2 and 3 level, so this contest should be well within his scope.
The consistent Netywell (Lucinda Russell) can chase him home.
1.15 Haydock
Former Swinton Hurdle victor N’GOLO looked an absolute picture at Wetherby and can improve upon his third placing that day.
D.J Jeffreys’ Lively Citizen ran a corker at the Aintree Festival and looks dangerous off a very low weight.
1.50 Haydock
Big things are expected of IROKO this season and the six-year-old can put up a bold show in this Graduation Chase. Rated 152, the classy chaser should prove too good for his lesser rated rivals here.
And don’t be surprised if Hillcrest runs a big race on his comeback after an absence of 981 days.
2.30 Haydock
Dan Skelton’s GWENNIE MAY BOY is in my 888 Jumps Horses To Follow 2024/25 so I will let you read my reasonings for picking him today in that article.
Irish raiders Backmersackme, Shoot First and Jody Ted could well figure in the podium spots too.
3.05 Haydock
Saturday’s predicted deluge of rain is music to the ears of Venetia Williams with her veteran chaser ROYALE PAGAILLE going for back-to-back victories in the Betfair Chase.
An attritional race will certainly play to his strengths and he can grind the others into submission.
Forecast backers may want to side with the French runner Gold Tweet who might just think he’s back at Auteuil if the grounds gets really tacky underfoot.
3.40 Haydock
Sue Smith has done well with her runners at Haydock down the years and she can pick up yet another chase victory with her seven-year-old PRAIRIE WOLF.
A winner here last March over a shorter 2m4f trip, the gelding can build upon his two Wetherby outings thus far.
Ann Hamilton’s Dare To Shout looked a promising sort at Carlisle and can give the selection the most to do.
