Gameweek 2 – Up For 8 Football Predictions:

Bournemouth v Everton - Saturday, 3pm

Prediction: Home Win

Reasoning: Bournemouth started the season off with a 2-1 defeat at Manchester City but they have a really good home record, unbeaten in their last nine games on the south coast in the Premier League, whilst they've won five of the last six meeting here with Everton in all competitions.

Coventry City v Hull City - Saturday, 3pm

Prediction: Draw

Reasoning: Coventry started their PL campaign with a 3-0 defeat away at the champions, whilst Hull City provided the shock of the weekend with a 2-0 win against Manchester United. Both sides are new to the top-flight this season, they've drawn their last three meetings and five of the last seven have also ended in stalemates.

Cardiff City v Sheffield United - Saturday, 3pm

Prediction: Away Win

Reasoning: Both of these sides have drawn their first two games in the Championship, Cardiff lost here to Norwich in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night. For Sheffield United, this is their second trip to south Wales in the space of a week following their goalless draw with Swansea last weekend, they've won each of their last three visits to Cardiff.

Norwich City v Burney - Saturday, 3pm

Prediction: Away Win

Reasoning: Norwich City are one of the favourites to challenge for a promotion this season but they've started their Championship campaign with two defeats. Burnley are another side looking for their first win of the campaign, they got a creditable draw against West Ham in their opener but were outplayed v West Brom last weekend, the Clarets have won each of the last four meetings between the two sides.

Tottenham Hotspur v Newcastle United - Saturday, 5.30pm

Prediction: Away Win

Reasoning: Tottenham started their campaign with an embarrassing performance, a 3-0 defeat to Brentford has already started to concern a few fans. They welcome Newcastle off the back of a 5-1 victory in the EFL Cup against Charlton though. Newcastle were unlucky not to take all three points against Liverpool last weekend, the Magpies enjoy this fixture, winning seven of their last nine competitive meetings.

Chelsea v Brighton - Sunday, 2pm

Prediction: Home Win

Reasoning: Chelsea looked good going forward in their 3-2 victory against Fulham but once again looked vulnerable at the back, something that will need addressing in this transfer window. Brighton also started their campaign off with a win, 4-0 against Aston Villa will fill them with confidence and despite winning each of the last four meetings, I'm backing against the Seagulls here as i feel Chelsea's attacking force will be the difference.

Leeds United v Brentford - Sunday, 2pm

Prediction: Draw

Reasoning: Leeds picked up their first three points of the season with a 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest last weekend, they followed that up with a 2-0 victory at the same ground in the EFL Cup. It's also been a good week for Brentford, their 3-0 victory over Tottenham in their curtain raiser was followed up with a 6-1 victory away at Birmingham City, the last three meetings between the pair have ended level.

Sunderland v Fulham - Sunday, 2pm

Prediction: Away Win

Reasoning: Two sides that have been spoken about in terms of fighting the drop this season, Sunderland lost their opener in the dying embers against new boys Ipswich Town, Fulham on the other hand looked a good side despite their 3-2 defeat against rivals Chelsea. The Cottagers travel to the Stadium of Light having won four of the last five meetings between the two sides in all competitions (L1).
