Tottenham Hotspur have gradually grown their global prestige over the last couple of decades, becoming a regular of the Premier League’s old top six and even reaching the UEFA Champions League Final.

Home to some superb talents, The Lilywhites have actively sought to gain more prestige as a brand, including by building a mightily impressive new stadium and hosting the NFL when it comes to the UK.

Spurs have offered up many reasons for football fans to gravitate to the club. Unsurprisingly, some who’ve been drawn in are of the rich and famous variety. These are some of those famous Spurs fans.

Lord Alan Sugar

Decorated businessman and former part-owner and chairman of Tottenham Hotspur for a decade, Lord Alan Sugar is certainly the most closely tied to the club’s history of all of these famous fans.

He chaired Spurs from 1991 to 2001, eventually selling his shares to ENIC to usher in the Daniel Levy era. During his spell, Sugar saw his Spurs team win the League Cup in 1999.

Now, Tottenham Hotspur are fishing for a new leader in the C-suite while a new head coach tries to get his team to make good on their Premier League odds for finishing in the top six.

Adele

Born in Tottenham, Adele has soared to superstardom since breaking into the music charts in the mid-00s. Now she’s among the world’s best-selling music artists.

Throw in her absurd hall of accolades, and to say that Adele is one of Tottenham Hotspur’s most famous fans may be an understatement.

She’s been a fan of Spurs since her childhood days in the local area, has featured in several club posts, and has been spotted in official gear when posting to social media herself.

Sir Trevor McDonald

Born in Trinidad and Tobago in 1939, Sir Trevor McDonald came to London in 1969 as a producer for BBC Radio, eventually earning his place as a regular on British TV screens through the 1970s to today.

His arrival in the capital opened him up to the English football scene, from which he picked Spurs as his favourite club.

Now 86-years-old, McDonald has seen his club hoist a trophy 13 times since making London his home, which includes all three of Tottenham’s UEFA Cup and UEFA Europa League triumphs.

This season, he’ll hope that Spurs can defy the Champions League betting lines and win Europe’s biggest competition for the first time.

Tom Holland

London lad Tom Holland has reached the pinnacle of modern pop culture since graduating from Wimbledon College, as now the 29-year-old is one of the faces of the multi-billion-dollar MCU as Spider-Man.

Even with him flying off to Hollywood to play the iconic comic book character, as well as taking on several other roles in big-budget films, Holland has always maintained his support for Spurs.

Opening the 2023/24 season, he was interviewed by the club website, speaking to his adoration of Cristian Romero along the backline and his enjoyment of watching Ange Postecoglou’s style of play.

Emma Raducanu

Tennis star Emma Raducanu may not have gravitated to Tottenham Hotspur as naturally as most of the other famous fans here, but the loyal Spurs fans around her helped to make it so.

In 2022, she was spotted wearing a Spurs shirt and told reporters that her whole team are big fans of the club, so they’d been desperately trying to convert her. This was amidst their seeming under-achievement in recent years.

She’d later cement her place among the famous Tottenham Hotspur fans after being inspired by Harry Kane’s Euro 2021 performance and then by watching Heung-min Son run riot down the wing for the club.

Ben is very much a sports nerd, being obsessed with statistical deep dives and the numbers behind the results and performances.

Top of the agenda are hockey, football, and boxing, but there's always time for some NFL, cricket, Formula One, and a bit of mixed martial arts.
